The Artist

Wild nature translated into pigment

Hayk Shahbazyan lives in Yeghegnadzor, Armenia. After graduating from Terlemezyan Painting College, he returned to his hometown and began building his professional artistic path there.

You can also meet him in Jermuk, where he has a studio as well. For many years, he has shown his art there as part of the city’s healing atmosphere, creating a connection between painting, place, and restoration.

His work is shaped by a personal technique using stone paints made through his own process. The wild and breathtaking beauty of nature, in all its changing forms, remains a constant presence throughout his paintings.

The Philosophy

"I work with stone paints made through my own unique technology, searching for a language that can hold the power of nature on canvas."
